A couple of weekends ago I met up with my bestie from Uni, Saloni. It’d been far too long as it normally always is, which is a terrible shame. Since I moved to Crawley to be with GR and further from London, it’s been a bit tough – a Travelcard is now about £20!
Anyway, I try and keep in touch as much as I can because, without a doubt, she is one of the very few people in my life who I wish to keep for the rest of said life. I often don’t tell her how wonderful she is and how she would easily be the first person I’d run to in a crisis.
We met up in London and had a lovely lunch in Wahaca, Soho. We debated over the cocktails but neither of us were fantastically rich or liking the options – this can wait for my birthday on the 30th 😉 So, I had a refreshing and tasty Citrus Fizz and she had a traditional Mexican Hibiscus water. Then we got our munch on and had some Nachos with a LOT of guacamole. This place does the BEST guacamole I’ve ever had, heaven. We then picked a our mains – I had a Black bean and cheese quesadillas (v) and Saloni had a Black beans Tostadas (v). Both were decidedly yummy.
We then had a chance to catch up about our men, our lives, our jobs and most importantly, our futures. Without a doubt in the world, she is the only person who I really open up to because I don’t feel judged at all by her. She just listens to what I say, mocks me and we have a giggle. It’s a good combo and I love it like that. She was undoubtedly the best thing to come out of university – it’s now been 5 years (wowza) since I met her in the corridor of first class where it all began. I wouldn’t take it back for the world. Enough gushing. We then had a scrumptious serving of Wahaca’s Salted caramel ice cream, terrible considering my lactose intolerance, but it’s so worth it. Every spoonful just makes you want more – they also have adorable pink plastic spoons 😀
After a short walk around Oxford, Regent and Carnaby Street taking in such shops as & Other Stories, Urban Outfitters and Forever 21, we made it to our goal of Primark. I needed red shorts for my Lifeguard night out in Brighton with work peeps and Saloni needed gym shorts – alas, we found neither but we did spend at least an hour trying to survive the hell that is Primark at Marble Arch.
Both tired and a little exhausted, we said our goodbyes until next time 🙂
