So, last week I was having a pretty rough one. I had my dissertation to finish, so that was about 11,000 words to write and I did it but it was hell. I wish I could say that I enjoyed it and I love everything about the American Civil War but I just found it more frustrating than anything else.
If you didn’t already know, from previous posts, I’m also moving on May 19th and have my final university exam on May 18th. So things are getting pretty hectic and stressful, which has meant that I’ve caught a mild form of flu and a throat infection. It sucks but revision calls.
But last week, I took a day off to go to Croydon. A day off from work, flat stuff and job hunting and it was G-O-O-D. good.
I started in the TopShop sale and bought some beautiful shoes. Ones that I have been looking for for an age! Leather Ankle boots but in a style I adore. They were reduced from £65 to £10. I was and still am as pleased as punch.
Then I got an interesting midi skirt, I’ve wanted one for a couple of months now… It’s a silky type of material and floats in the air. It was reduced from £55 til £30 – I nabbed it and wore it to the opera I went to this saturday. An experience and a half!
Afterwards, I went to Starbucks for a spot of lunch and a read of a magazine I have only just started reading but now, can’t stop. It was just what I needed – relaxing and oh so satisfying. I love coffee shops and it had been far too long. The cookie was delicious.
Then, I went to a shop that I had forgotten till my magazine reminded me, it’s called Joy and it is brilliant – really unique and french inspired. It’s always a pleasure looking at their shelves but they also had a sale on. It was marvellous. I bought a girly summer dress, which actually makes my curves look acceptable.
I may have also bought a £15 dress, along with the one above to replace the ghastly Ted Baker black and white one I’ve posted previously. It is elegant and stunning and I cannot wait to wear it in about three weeks time, nor go to a wedding to begin with! 😀 It’s going to be mega romantic (I hope). I went with the one shoulder, mint coloured look and plan to put perhaps bright pink or red lipstick with it and some beautiful low black heels, or nude…
Finally, I may have dyed my hair bright red this weekend. It looks AWESOME! I’m so glad to finally have something that highlights my personality, cause I’m anything but normal. I couldn’t love it more!
Cause I have the flu and look a bit like a zombie right now, you can see the colour on the box 😛 Don’t worry, I will post a picture soon though…
