If I’m honest, today was bloody fantastic!
After being put in touch with the head of a Marketing Team at a Construction Company, things have started to go rather well today. By the end of our hour long coffee (in a beautiful french coffee shop in London Bridge called Le Pain Quotidien) I had:
– Set up a career plan
– Picked out my next Qualification
– Joined LinkedIn
– Named myself as a Social Media Marketer
How exciting! We discussed the Marketing environment and just how it was that little old me was gonna crack it after having next to no experience in the industry. So, I’m gonna started bottom up as a Marketing Assistant, whilst gaining a Professional Certificate in Marketing during Evening classes in Brighton. Then, I plan to move on up! Gather as much experience and money as I trample up the yellow brick road of Social Media Marketing.
It’s taken me far too long to do this and decide on this really. I did get a massive confidence boost though talking about my qualifications and experience. I had an enormous sense of wellbeing (exactly like Blur) when I realised how much I have accomplished despite the adversities I have had to overcome the past 10years of my life. I am one lucky girl, I think. Apparently, I didn’t come off as nervous or lacking in confidence in any way. She was crazy easy to talk to though and my tongue is always a little bit looser after a coffee that size! I would have taken a picture but it would have looked creepy in a business meeting 😛
Maybe I’ll just collect picture of coffee and cake that I eat… or is that a bit too ‘done’ already…?
