Last week, I found a blog by a woman called Rachael Chadwick, her blog is named 60 Postcards.
Her blog is inspired by her mum, who died in 2011 but don’t be mistaken for thinking this is a morbid blog – it is one full of smiles. Just before her death, Rachael’s mum bought her tickets to Paris and when she visited, she planted 60 postcards (bought from Paperchase in King’s Cross Station) around the city asking the finder to get in touch. The postcards were left on the eurostar, in cafes, restaurants, telephone boxes, on the metro, in bookshops, postcard racks and on benches.
The brief, handwritten on each postcard was:
On Tuesday 11th December 2011, she got her first reply when a man found her postcard in the cafe featured in the film Amelie, Café des deux moulins (Two Windmills), and since then her blog has filled up with touching responses and interesting encounters.
