I created My Little Tale out of the embers of my first blog, Colonel Funk (I know… catchy name), almost 6 years ago. During my last year in university as a means of staying creative during the writing of my dissertation, I started out on Tumblr then quickly migrated to WordPress. I wanted a place to learn to code, practice my writing but largely, document my life and adventures in the same way that I had done in journals for years. Back then, I saw it as a diary – now it’s a whole lot more. My Little Tale has grown into a place where I can hone my editorial skills in an inspiring digital landscape.
For the last 6 years, I’ve been working in Digital Marketing, specialising in creative Digital Content, SEO and Social Media. Beginning as the ‘Company Blogger’ and climbing the ladder to more senior roles, I’ve learnt a lot in a short space of time. To date, I’ve worked mainly for luxury travel companies – TUI and Kuoni – but now I’m at Time Inc UK to work on NME, Look and Now publications. My Little Tale has benefited from these career learnings and as such, has become a well-established UK Lifestyle and Travel blog, with content and statistics to be proud of without losing it’s authenticity.
My Little Tale is incredibly important to me and has provided me with opportunities I’ll always be grateful for, as well as enabled me to meet some amazing colleagues within the blogging community. It’ll always be my dream to run it full-time but for now, I’m content to manage it part-time.
So, have a read, let me know what you think on one of my social channels and hopefully I’ll see you at an event in the days to come.
