Since I first had my hair dyed when I was maybe in year 9 at school, so about 16, I have always loved it. The ability to change how you look and how you feel about yourself – your image – in one fell dramatic swoop. My first trip, I walked in mousey brown and came out blonde. For years I kept this same pattern, obsessed with blonde – I had no idea why, it may have been for the simple reason that my mum had hers done that colour and it was what was drastically different to some dull brown. So, I investigated into other colours – pink, blue, red, purple, orange and black. I never really looked back.
However, there have always been colours I have wanted to do – green, although every hairdresser point blank refuses and when I do anything myself to do with bleach I go bright orange, the colour above – a baby purple, pink or blue – I’ve wanted this for a while but yet again, right now – my hair is too dark and I’m an impatient sort of lady. Also, a X-men rogue-esque type of look, all dark with a white streak – again, many have refused because apparently white shouldn’t be put on a younger person.
These are my future plans and hairdressers, you can suck it cause they will be awesome!
