Since Green Ranger and I moved in together, nearly three years ago now, we’ve been making improvements to our flat to make it feel more like a home. Because we rent, this isn’t always a viable option. You can’t paint the walls, you can only hang pictures where there are already hooks and you can’t really add in shelving, so it’s been a tad difficult. It just means that what we hang has to be worth its place on our walls and really make a difference.
So when we got engaged nearly a month ago now (wow, times flies!), we wanted to put something on our living room wall to commemorate it, something that was ‘us’. So, we found this lovely company in San Francisco called Social Print Studio. For a fair price of $60 (£35), they print a chosen selection of your Instagram shots and put them in a high quality frame, which seemed absolutely ideal for us.
Having had a look at various companies who do the same thing, we really loved the service they call Printstagram because what they do has genuine friendliness behind it. They care about what they’re crafting and you can tell every bit of love has been put into the product. They are truly social people.
When we were ordering our frame, I had the joy of talking to Jenny, who advised me on the best product to buy, we could have had ‘squares’, a framed print, a poster, magnets, mini prints and more! When she asked what it was for, she couldn’t have been happier for the both of us and told us we needed to get the frame, we wholly agreed. She really understood what we wanted and it made all the difference. We have our eyes on quite a few products now.
Since we’ve hung it, it’s made our living room feel so much fuller and given the white walls a character it didn’t have before, it’s also nice to look back on fond memories of our time together so far when we’re having an afternoon in with our teapot!
Do you have a framed print of you, your friends or your partner? What do you hang in your house/flat?
